Adoption story (short): I was volunteering at the Galveston Shelter when I met Frisco. He had been in the shelter for 9 months and was beginning to withdraw and not eat. He appeared to be giving up hope. I brought him home to foster to get him out of the shelter…and bring him out of his hopelessness. He was supposed to stay with my husband and I for one week then go to an adopt-a-thon the next weekend. I was going out of town for a wedding and my husband was to take him to the adopt-a-thon. Well, Frisco never made it. In one week, Frisco knew whom he had to win over and it was not me. My husband fell in love with Frisco and he never went back to the shelter. Frisco joined our family and has brought us many years of laughter, love and joy.
